T.K. Soul, born Terence Kimble on August 26, 1964, in Winnfield, Louisiana, is a contemporary soul singer known for blending R&B traditions with modern-day hip-hop accents. A self-taught musician, Kimble played multiple instruments and performed in local bands from a young age. After years of working as a sideman for various R&B and funk acts, he adopted the stage name T.K. Soul and launched his solo career in 2002 with One Woman Man. His 2004 album Love Games marked a breakthrough, generating regional hits like “Cheating and Lying.” He continued to rise in popularity with subsequent albums, including Undisputed and The Evolution of Soul. By the 2010s, T.K. Soul had become a prominent figure in the soul-blues scene, releasing albums like Ghetto Superstar and Life After Love while also managing his own record label, which signed several artists.
